The US Patent Office recently released a patent pre-filed by Apple, describing an all-glass iPhone. In addition to this unique material for a homogeneous feel, the document also speaks of a screen that could extend in all directions, going as far as covering the entire surface of the device, back and sides included.
It's going to swipe
The displayed content can then expand in all directions and the icons slide from one side of the iPhone to the other for even more swipe, and scroll content on all surfaces. The patent further specifies that the edges can be slightly distorted to simulate the touch of a button, for example the volume control. Source: Patently Apple
