According to Apple specialist analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via MacRumors), future Apple AirPods Pro could be compatible with Lossless Alac (Apple Lossless) encoding, and their charging case can be located in case of loss, by beeping on demand, most likely via the Find My app.
What technology to enjoy Lossless audio files on AirPods?
None of the current AirPods versions are Lossless compatible, especially with lossless files available on Apple Music (see our Apple Music Lossless news soon available on HomePod / HomePod Mini and Apple TV 4K), the Bluetooth transmission being limited to AAC codec. A Lossless wireless listening experience will therefore certainly require Apple specific transmission technology to work with AirPods Pro 2 bypassing Bluetooth. Or an alternative solution from Apple?
Already the subject of previous rumors, the AirPods Pro 2 is expected to launch in Q4 2022.
