According to the latest figures from Canalys, the global distribution of smartphones rose by only 1% in 2021, a weak growth due in particular to the shortage of components.
Apple in front of Samsung and Xiaomi
Problems on the supply chains which however mainly affected the first price models, sparing the premium giants such as Apple. Thus, the iPhone represents 22% of the distribution of smartphones in the world in the last quarter of 2021, allowing Apple to recover its number one position previously occupied by Samsung. The Korean manufacturer is therefore in second position with 20% of the distribution, followed by Xiaomi which retains its third place with 12%.
Apple's success is mainly due to the popularity of the iPhone 13 launched in September, with particular success in China.
