At the start of the year, the Let's Go Digital site reported a patent published by Samsung, describing a smartphone with a foldable screen, capable of folding in on itself to protect the screen, but also in the other direction to expose it.
Samsung foldable smartphone on two axes, from rumor to reality?
Recently, reputable Korean leaker Dohyun Kim confirmed that Samsung is currently working on such a project. This rather incredible design thus has two perpendicular hinge systems: one vertical so that the fold exposes the screen to use the device in smartphone mode, and the other horizontal to close the screen on itself and therefore the protect when transported. Naturally, completely unfolded, the mobile acts as a charming little tablet.
Particularly innovative, even in the young foldable smartphone market, this concept is however based on the solidity of the screen, which is much more stressed than on a classic foldable model. Source: Let's Go Digital
