Small reminder of the facts. The iPhones are currently equipped on the top of the screen with a notch leaving room for selfie sensors. For two iPhone 14 Pro versions expected next fall, rumors agree to see the notch replaced by two perforations: one circular for the camera, the other oval for the Face ID module.
Unique circular perforation on the iPhone 15 Pro in 2023
The Korean media The Elec outbids by saying that it will be necessary to wait until 2023 and the iPhone 15 (Pro versions again) for the oval opening to disappear and give way to a single circular perforation. The “miracle†will take place thanks to Samsung and a technology – developed in collaboration with the Canadian OTI Lumionics – allowing the sensor to be concealed behind the screen. This technology will be more advanced than that already present on the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and will also be used on the Z Fold 5 of 2023.
Note that previous rumors already mentioned this development for the iPhone selfie sensor, but did not see it arriving until 2024.
