Les Incorruptibles draws 4K Ultra HD in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos

Brian De Palma's big-screen adaptation of the famous television series of the same name and great public success, Les Incorruptibles will be back in 4K Ultra HD on June 8.

Chicago, 1930s, beginning of Prohibition. But between this new measure and its actual application extends an illegal territory over which Al Capone (De Niro) reigns supreme. Responsible for enforcing the law, Elliot Ness (Kevin Costner) is appointed to lead a group of police officers. His first intervention turns into a fiasco. Ness then decides to form his own band.

Unforgettable final sequence

Pileup of pieces of bravery and sometimes even not always convincing histrionics (De Niro in the lead), Les Incorruptibles remains particularly memorable for its final sequence in the central station (which quotes that of the Odessa staircase of the Battleship Potemkin) . And for the record, the film's soundtrack is a thinly disguised variation of those already composed by Ennio Morricone for The Battle of Algiers and Peur sur ville by Verneuil.

Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos

The film by Brian De Palma, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, will be published by Paramount on June 8 in a Collector Steelbook box set filled with goodies: the front/back poster of the film, six photo prints of the film and the business cards of Elliot Ness and the mayor of Chicago. Completely restored, image and sound will offer the Dolby Vision and HDR10 labels, but also Dolby Atmos for the original version.
