2022 4K Ultra HD market share forecast Taking into account these sales figures, but also those of the first quarter of 2022 (second best quarter since the launch of the format) and those achieved for the month of June, the NPD VideoScan organization has unveiled its market share forecasts for the year 2022, in its entirety. Thus, sales of 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray discs should represent 12.6% of volumes compared to 34% for classic Blu-Ray and 53.4% for DVD.

Even if streaming has revolutionized the market of video and has seen the number of subscribers to VOD/SVOD services grow strongly in recent years, taking advantage of exceptional circumstances with the Covid-19 pandemic, the physical format is not dead and the spectacle of image and sound unequaled 4K Ultra HD discs are convincing more and more consumers.
