A (renowned) director and screenwriter for the adaptation of Bioshock

The Netflix film adaptation of the video game Bioshock gets its hands on the director of The Hunger Games and the screenwriter of Blade Runner 2049.

We announced earlier this year that Netflix had secured the rights to the film adaptation of the video game Bioshock.

Nice catches

The platform recently revealed that the film will be directed by Francis Lawrence (photo below), to whom we owe the Hunger Games saga, and the 2005 film I Am Legend. We learn in passing that the screenplay will be written by Michael Green, who lent his pen for Logan and Blade Runner 2049. Quality CVs which, hopefully, will be used for a successful adaptation.

A utopia gone wrong

Launched in 2007 by 2K Games, a subsidiary of Take‑Two Interactive, Bioshock was successful and spawned two critically acclaimed sequels. A first-person shooter, it takes place in a ruined underwater city called Rapture, built by a utopian corporation gone wrong.
