iPhone 14 Pro: improved ultra-wide-angle, affected price?

Latest revelations on the technical characteristics of the new iPhones a few days before their announcement.

According to Taiwanese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo - renowned for its reliability - the iPhone 14 Pro will have an ultra-wide-angle sensor with larger pixels than on previous versions, a feature that could affect the price of the devices.

New ultra-wide-angle sensor with 1.4 µm photosite?

We would thus find 1.4 μm photosites on the ultra-wide-angle sensors of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, compared to the iPhone 12 Pro and 13 Pro equipped with 1.0 μm photosites. This increased size will allow for better light capture and even sharper images in low light conditions.

New ultra-wide-angle sensor 70% more expensive?

Kuo nevertheless specifies that the new components used cost up to 70% more for Apple, an increase which could affect the final price of the devices. The new iPhone range consists of two versions with a 6.1'' (15.5 cm) screen -iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro- and two other versions with a 6.7'' (17 cm) screen -iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 14 Pro Max- will be presented on September 7.
