Apple headphones: screens that bury the competition?

A few hours before the (still hypothetical) announcement of Apple's very first mixed reality headset, new leaks reveal the characteristics of its apparently incredible displays.

Starting today and running through June 9, Apple's annual developer conference, WWDC 2023, features Apple's first-ever mixed reality headset - virtual reality (VR) + augmented reality (AR) - from manufacturer should be unveiled there, probably this evening during the Apple conference scheduled for 7 p.m.

Apple mixed reality headset, Ultra HD 4K definition

The analyst Ross Young -generally reliable- would have got his hands on the technical characteristics of the screens of the device, and that sends heavy. Each of the two micro Oled screens would thus have an Ultra HD 4K definition, would measure 1.41 '' (3.6 cm) diagonally and would be HDR compatible. Apple is reportedly aiming for a peak brightness of 5,000 nits and a density of 4,000 dots per inch.

For comparison, high-end TVs are between 2,000 and 5,000 nits, and the Meta Quest 2 headset with its LCD screens around 100 nits, with a density of 1,200 dpi, without HDR compatibility. Apple's headphones would thus offer new features for this type of device and could impress people, while justifying a higher price than the competition (around $3,000).
