Disney is also tracking password sharing?

In India, Disney reportedly started the war on password sharing on its Disney+ Hotstar service, despite a more lenient initial policy.

After Netflix, it would be Disney+'s turn to hunt down those who abuse password sharing, the practice of giving free access to your account to someone who does not live under your roof.

According to Reuters sources, the premium option of the Disney+ Hotstar service in India will limit the number of connections to four per subscription. Namely, this limit is already indicated to subscribers, but in practice it is set at ten. Disney would therefore have allowed its subscribers to exceed this ceiling, just to attract more customers.

Disney+ and the hunt for password sharing soon all over the world?

Apparently, only 5% of premium subscribers use this possibility. Disney+ Hotstar, however, would now like to enforce the limit of four simultaneous connections to encourage more people to pay for a subscription. Reuters adds that these restrictions will also apply to the cheapest subscription option, which restricts usage to two connections. It remains to be seen if this hunt for password sharing will apply to the rest of the world in the weeks and months to come.
