Google Pixel 8 smartphone, a brain in your pocket

Google presents the new annual iteration of its Pixel smartphone range, made up of two models, the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8. Spotlight on the latter model.

pThe new Google Pixel 8 smartphone is equipped with a 6.2'' (15.75 cm) 120 Hz HDR10+ Oled Super Actua screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels in 20/9 format (428 ppi), featuring with a peak light of 1,400 nits and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Google Pixel 8, screen and processor For the design, we will note a satin metal frame and a polished rear window (hello, thank you, you're welcome). The processor is a Google Tensor G3 Nona Core specimen (1 x 3 GHz Cortex-X3 + 4x 2.45 GHz Cortex-A715 + 4 x 2.15 GHz Cortex-A510) engraved in 4 nm, supported by an Immortalis graphics chip. G715s MC10, 8 GB of Ram memory and 128 GB or 256 GB of flash memory. This power notably allows certain AI features such as the Magic Audio Eraser which is used to erase unwanted sounds from videos.

Google Pixel 8, photo and video capabilities The Google Pixel 8 camera consists of a 50 Mpxls wide-angle sensor with Octa PD technology (f/1.7, 25 mm, 1/1.31", 1.2 µm photosite, multi-directional PDAF, Laser AF autofocus, stabilized), and a 12 Mpxls ultra-wide-angle sensor (f/2.2, 126°, 1/2.9", photosite 1.25 µm) with autofocus. The ultra-wide-angle selfie sensor is a 10.5 Mpxls model with Dual PD (f/2.2, 20 mm, 1/3.1", photosite 1.22 µm).

Video recording is possible up to in Ultra HD 4K at 60 fps or 1080p up to 240 fps on the main sensor, up to Ultra HD 4K at 60 fps on the selfie camera.
