iPhone 15 Pro Max Vs foldable smartphones: watch out for falling!

Surprising results concerning solidity tests between the screens of the latest iPhones and those of the foldable models from Samsung and Google, considered a priori more fragile.

Offering extended warranties for electronic products, the company Allstate Protection Plans has carried out robustness tests on the latest large smartphones to date: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, iPhone 15 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Google Pixel Fold .

Solidity of foldable smartphone screens, reality far from fiction…

It wasn't really a rigorous experiment in a controlled environment, but the results were still surprising, particularly with regard to foldable screens. The smartphones were dropped from a given height to see how they resist falls. Surprise, if the “normal” screens, for example that of Apple, were instantly broken, the foldable screen of the Google Pixel Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 were only scratched.

Interesting then imagine foldable screens more fragile than their rigid counterparts, but we can deduce that it is perhaps their flexibility which made it possible to cushion the fall and therefore protect the screens.
