The Infinite Dolby Atmos room at the Grand Rex in Paris hosts Krix height and effects speakers, an American manufacturer which is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary in 2024. Founded in 1974 by Scott Krix, a young university graduate engineer who had been designing speakers for his family and friends for years, the company of the same name now has a complete range of products in its catalog capable of meeting the needs of consumers. general public and cinemas.
Krix HyperPhonix 45, main specifications££££
At first glance, it is surprising to learn that the Atmos and Surround speakers in the Dolby Atmos Infinite room are two-way HyperPhonix 45 models loaded with bass reflex (front vent), classified by Krix on its website in the category of dedicated Home Cinema rooms. This is much more understandable when reading their technical sheet with a 16.5 cm paper cone woofer and a 2.6 cm fabric dome tweeter and exclusive 90 x 90 horn, for an admissible power of 250 W RMS and 92 dB of output. In addition, their adjustable support allows Dolby Atmos specifications to be respected to the letter (in particular the 45° angle for Front Side, surround or Atmos speakers, see photo below).

Finally, the surprise fades completely when we know that Krix recommends Trinnov reference electronics to power its speakers. Moreover, at the last ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) show in Barcelona which was held from January 30 to February 2, the Trinov demonstration room in configuration 13.1.6 (with 14 subwoofers!) was equipped with Krix speakers (see illustration below).
