Seven Samurai: The Film That Revolutionized Cinema Returns in 4K

Undoubtedly one of the most famous Japanese films in the world, The Samurai s7 returns in 4K Ultra HD in its long version (the original version and not truncated as was the case for the international exploitation of the film) of nearly 3h30. The disc is expected in stores on November 20, almost 70 years after the release of the film.

We no longer present Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece, Seven Samurai. Since its release, the film has rightly been a cinematographic reference for many filmmakers.

Not only because of its subject (heroism, the central theme of the film where a small group of courageous men comes to the aid of a community of relatively selfish villagers), its direction imbued with symbolism, moments of bravery and humor, and its music, the film has left its mark on the 7th art, with the Silver Lion in Venice in 1954. Even today, its influence is considerable. His way of treating fight scenes, particularly his use of slow motion, has set a precedent, especially in the 60s/70s (John Sturges, Sergio Leone, Sam Peckinpah, etc.).

A must have available in 4K from November 20th at The Jokers Films. Pre-order by clicking on The 7 Samurai
