Apple Watch SE 3, for children?

Apple's next cheap smartwatch, the Apple Watch SE, could adopt a plastic casing to appeal to a younger audience (and reduce its production costs).

A few weeks ago, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that Apple was developing the third version of the Apple Watch SE, a lower-cost model of its smartwatch with a plastic casing.

Until now, the exterior of previous Apple Watch SEs has been made of anodized aluminum, a more noble material than plastic but naturally more expensive to produce. This change would make the next Apple Watch SE less expensive, but also attract a new audience: children.

This is the latest information reported once again by Gurman, specifying that the plastic will allow for a wider range of colors. He adds that Apple intends to target children in its promotional campaign, presenting the Apple Watch as an alternative to smartphones.
