McIntosh MX200, 8K Home Cinema Processor and Dirac Live

Successor to the McIntosh MX100 which appeared at the end of 2020, the McIntosh MX200 Home Cinema processor keeps its shape with remarkable compactness. On the other hand, in terms of substance, it has evolved significantly.

Model 11.2, the McIntosh MX200 processor is still as sober as its predecessor MX100 in terms of connectivity. However, it integrates the latest audio-video specifications.

McIntosh MX200, Dirac Live££££ While the decoding of [abc]Dolby Atmos[/abc] and [abc]DTS:X[/abc] soundtracks up to 7.1.4 is of course on the menu, there are seven 32-bit audiophile-quality digital-to-analog converters. The excellent Dirac Live acoustic correction processing is present, in place of the [abc]Audyssey MultEQ XT 32[/abc] of the MX100, associated with its full operating license. On the other hand, the calibration microphone is not provided.

McIntosh MX200, the connectivity££££ The McIntosh MX200 is therefore still not overflowing in terms of connectivity. But the essentials are preserved with four inputs/one [abc]HDMI[/abc] 2.1 output ([abc]eARC[/abc] function for the latter), two [abc]coaxial[/abc] inputs, two [abc]optical[/abc] inputs, one stereo [abc]RCA[/abc], one Phono MM, one stereo RCA auxiliary input and one stereo XLR. The 11.2 output (Dolby Atmos and DTS:X) has eleven [abc]XLR[/abc] (balanced) plus two RCA (unbalanced) for the subwoofers. There is also an [abc]RS-232[/abc] port, an [abc]Ethernet[/abc] port, a powered USB-A port dedicated to maintenance, a [abc]Trigger[/abc] port, a Data port and an [abc]IR[/abc] port. To return to the HDMI connectors, [abc]HDR10+[/abc], [abc]HDR Dolby Vision[/abc], [abc]HDCP[/abc] 2.3, Rec.2020, 4:4:4, [abc]4K[/abc]/120 and [abc]8K[/abc]/60 are on the program.

Last precision, in 2U rack format, the McIntosh MX200 is supplied with brackets for easy installation in a suitable technical cabinet, to accompany the associated power amplifier(s).
