TCL Q85H, Ray Danz Dolby Atmos/DTS:X 7.1.4 soundbar

After our presentations of the new TCL X965 and TCL C765 TV series, unveiled by the Chinese manufacturer at the IFA show in Berlin last week, and the TCL Q75H sound bar, we return as expected to the TCL Q85H.

Model [abc]7.1.4[/abc], the TCL Q85H soundbar is actually the result of the combination of the TCL Q75H, 5.1.2 model, and a pair of wireless surround speakers of 1.0.1 obedience. The total number of speakers (tweeter and wideband) therefore increases from eleven to fifteen for a total power output of 860 watts. For the rest, the TCL Q85H is still accompanied by a 100 W wireless subwoofer and the decoding of the [abc]Dolby Atmos[/abc] and [abc]DTS:X[/abc] soundtracks is of course included. Its relatively compact design allows it to be easily integrated into any interior.

TCL Q85H, Ray Danz, AI Sonic and Tutti Choral technologies££££

The TCL Q85H features Ray Danz technology. The latter uses reflectors around certain speakers located at the ends of the sound bar to magnify the surround scene and increase the viewer's immersion in the action. For its part, the AI Sonic process calibrates the audio rendering of the TCL Q85H according to the configuration of the room where it is located. Finally, new, in the presence of a TCL 2024 television, the exclusive Tutti Choral mode combines the sound coming from the sound bar and the television speakers for tenfold sound emphasis.

TCL Q85H, connectivity and connectivity££££

To make a long story short, and while we wait to know the details of its acoustic package, the TCL Q85H sound bar offers wide connectivity with [abc]AirPlay 2[/abc], [abc]Chromecast (integrated)[/abc], [abc]Bluetooth[/abc] 5.1 and [abc]Wi-Fi[/abc] compatibilities. The connectivity includes two [abc]HDMI[/abc] 2.0 outputs, one of which has the [abc]eARC[/abc] function to retrieve the sound from the TV, an [abc]optical[/abc] input and a [abc]USB[/abc] Host port ensuring compatibility with the [abc]MP3[/abc], [abc]WMA[/abc], [abc]Flac[/abc] and [abc]Wav[/abc] codecs.

TCL Q85H, main specifications££££

There are six [abc]DSP[/abc] settings to optimize the sound rendering of a sports program, for films, games, voices or even music, in addition to the standard mode. We also note the DTS Play-Fi wireless (or wired) network protocol which also offers multiroom management. Several Play-Fi speakers or devices can thus coexist in the same home, communicate together. All the features of a multiroom configuration are then available: broadcasting the same music source on all DTS Play-Fi products, or the possibility of broadcasting a separate source on each of them. In addition to the TCL Home application or the remote control, the TCL Q85H can be controlled using the touch transport buttons on its top.

Available, in black, immediately. Recommended price: 800 euros.
