Europe is not done with Apple

Did you really think the European Commission was done putting pressure on Apple over the DMA anti-competition legislation?

After the [abc]USB[/abc]-C port, RCS compatibility and many other changes, the iPhone has undergone major transformations in recent months, all under pressure from European legislation. And after proceedings opened last June against Apple, it was clear that the European Commission (EC) was still not done with the American company even if, on paper, it complied with all the anti-competition rules (DMA) imposed by Europe.

The EC wants more interoperability on the iOS system££££

And guess what, it's not over yet! The latest episode to date, a warning issued by the EC to Apple, asking the tech giant to further open its iPhone iOS system to give third-party developers access to features that were previously locked. Apple had until then given up a little ground on this "interoperability", but not enough according to Europe. Basically, Apple's system, which was previously closed for security reasons - according to the company - must be much more accessible to external developers, a bit like Android. And if nothing is done about it within six months, the big fines, up to 10% of the company's turnover, will start to fall.
