In the Day of the Jackal, Eddie Raynmane reprises Bruce Willis' role

NBC Universal has just released the first trailer for the miniseries adaptation of Fredrick Forsyth's iconic 1971 novel, The Day of the Jackal. Quite a pleasant surprise, but…

This is not the first time that Forsyth's novel has been adapted. While we remember with pleasure the 1973 film with Edward Fox and Michael Lonsdale by Fred Zinnemann, we will easily forget the 1997 version The Jackal with Bruce Willis and Richard Gere.

The official synopsis of the new mini-series states: "The Jackal makes his living as a hitman for the highest price. But after his last murder, he meets his match in the person of a tenacious British intelligence officer who sets off in pursuit of him in a thrilling cat-and-mouse race across Europe, sowing destruction in her wake."

Eddie Raynmane, the time of cathedrals is long gone££££

A trailer that suggests a modernized story focusing on the personality of the killer and his pursuer. The staging seems effective and the actors really good (Eddie Raynmane revealed in The Pillars of the Earth, Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Úrsula Corberó, Lia Williams, among others). The only problem is, we really wonder what the added value of the series is without the historical plot against De Gaulle from the original novel.

Answer with the broadcast of The Day of the Jackal in preview on Sky in the United Kingdom on November 7 and on Peacock in the United States on November 14. In France, we will have to wait a little longer before knowing the broadcaster.
