According to the latest indiscretions reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is working on smart glasses as well as AirPods headphones equipped with a camera. Products already mentioned in previous rumors and which could arrive as early as 2027.
Apple, heading for augmented reality££££
These devices would illustrate Apple's desire to expand its offering on augmented reality (AR), after a powerful but too expensive and impractical Apple Vision Pro headset for outdoor use. These future new products, which are still in the preparatory stage, show that Apple wants to offer AR in more accessible forms. The cameras integrated into the glasses, comparable to the Ray-Ban Meta model, and the AirPods are supposed to exploit the technologies integrated into the Apple Vision Pro, in which Apple has invested a lot of money. Concretely, they allow to analyze the environment and provide information to users, for example the opening hours and menus of restaurants just by observing the storefront.
