AirPods Pro 2 hearing aid, first in the USA

While Apple's AirPods Pro 2 headphones will soon benefit from features comparable to those of real hearing aids, they will not be available in our country right away.

In September, Apple took advantage of the release of its new iPhones to announce new hearing aid features for its AirPods Pro 2 headphones already available on the market, via a software update coming this fall.

AirPods Pro 2 and hearing aid, functionality subject to the health authorities of each country££££

Good news for the USA and Canada since they will be the first countries to benefit from it at the end of October, but for other countries, we will have to wait a little longer. Indeed, the deployment of these new functions depends on the decision of the health authorities of each country. And while the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), the body that regulates medical devices in the USA, has given its authorization for this type of use in the United States, the decision has not yet been validated in France or anywhere else.

As a reminder, these functions give the AirPods Pro 2 the attributes of hearing aids, thus transforming them into a more affordable alternative for people bothered by "mild to moderate" hearing loss. The update will also allow you to take a 5-minute hearing test yourself via iPhone or iPad for a personalized result.
