JBL MA510, 5.2 Dolby Atmos amplifier, DTS-X, 8K and Bluetooth

After the presentation of the JBL MA310 in our columns (see our news JBL MA310, 5.2 Dolby amplifier, DTS and Bluetooth), it's time for that of its big brother the JBL MA510.

If the JBL MA510 is still a 5.2 model, it nevertheless delivers more power and, above all, offers significantly improved technical characteristics.

JBL MA510, main specifications££££

A 5.2 model, the JBL M5310 is still built on a Class D amplification capable of delivering a power of 5 x 75 W under 8 ohms (compared to 5 x 60 W for the JBL MA310). We of course find the automatic calibration function of the group called EZ Set EQ to be used via the microphone of an iOS or Android device (for the latter, the brand recommends the use of an external microphone). The rest of the specifications mention the Dolby Atmos and DTS-X decoders, plus a 192 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter.

JBL MA510, connectivity££££

The connectivity of the JBL MA510 brings together four [abc]HDMI[/abc] 2.1 [abc]CEC[/abc] inputs certified [abc]HDCP[/abc] 2.3 and transparent to [abc]Deep Color[/abc], [abc]xvYCC[/abc] and 3D signals. The latter are also equipped with [abc]eARC[/abc], [abc]VRR[/abc], [abc]ALLM[/abc], QFT, [abc]HFR[/abc] 4K/120 and 8K/60 functionalities. Likewise, the management of [abc]HDR10[/abc], [abc]HDR10+[/abc], [abc]HDR Dolby Vision[/abc]. Also present, an [abc]optical[/abc] input, a [abc]coaxial[/abc], two stereo [abc]RCA[/abc] inputs, two subwoofer outputs and an [abc]Ethernet[/abc] port. Not to mention a [abc]USB[/abc] port and five pairs of screw terminals.

In terms of connectivity, the JBL MA510 offers [abc]Bluetooth[/abc], [abc]Wi-Fi[/abc] ac Dual Band, [abc]AirPlay 2[/abc], Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, [abc]Chromecast (integrated)[/abc] compatibility. [abc]MP3[/abc], [abc]AAC[/abc] (48 kHz/320 kbps), [abc]WMA[/abc] (48 kHz/192 kbps), [abc]Alac[/abc], [abc]Flac[/abc], [abc]AIFF[/abc], [abc]Wav[/abc] (192 kHz/24 bits) compatibility are ensured. Also worth mentioning are the Roon Reay and SmartThings labels (requires configuration with a SmartThings Hub and the SmartThings app).

Also worth noting is the consistently beautiful design with an off-white or black front enhanced by a transparent coating for a brilliant look with the most beautiful effect.
