Young Star Wars desperately seeks screenwriter

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is reportedly no longer writing the next Star Wars film.

The film entitled New Jedi Order, which was clearly intended to organize the return of Rey, played by Daisy Ridley in the franchise, already has no screenwriter.

Eviction or renunciation?££££

While we don't yet know what happened, it is very likely that the future Star Wars will probably not be released on the announced date in December 2026. A real hassle for the studio apparently, since Steven Knight had already succeeded the screenwriters Damon Lindelof (Watchmen, Lost) and Justin Britt-Gibson (Counterpart), who also left the project very early last year.

May the Force be with her/him££££

Lucasfilm is now looking for a new screenwriter for New Jedi Order, while Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy remains attached to direct the project. The casting is therefore open, but if the seasoned Lindelof and Knight have thrown in the towel, it becomes difficult to sketch the profile of the next screenwriter who will be hired to succeed them. Whoever it is, we hope in advance that the Force is with her or him. Another question: will Lucasfilm give up this December 2026 slot, especially since James Mangold could start production on his Dawn of the Jedi project as early as next year?
