Initially, the project was a "simple" adaptation of the Korean series into a feature film. Today, it would rather be a series format that will not be a remake strictly speaking of the South Korean series, but rather a spin-off that will probably take place in the United States.
Several sources claim that the series is the next project that David Fincher will embark on in 2025. The director has long been under contract with Netflix, and this will be his fourth series with the platform after House of Cards, Mindhunter and Love, Death and Robots.
