CES 25 > LG G5 Oled TV: 4,000 nits target

The race for nits is still in full swing in the Oled TV market. And the next LG G5 TV series expected at the CES 2025 in Las Vegas, which will be held from January 7 to 11, should announce a peak brightness of 4,000 nits.

Information on the LG Oled 2025 TV range is starting to filter through. And the big news would unsurprisingly be a peak brightness announced up to 4,000 nits (as a reminder, 1 nit is equivalent to the brightness of a candle per square meter, or precisely 3.426 lumens for one square meter) for the models in the LG G5 series.

This performance is linked to the development of a new White Oled MLA panel capable of delivering up to 30% more brightness. To be precise, this figure would still be valid for an APL 3%. To be precise again, LG Display had already unveiled this new Woled panel at the CES show in Las Vegas 2024 in an extremely private room to some of its best customers and a few industry analysts.

The latter was at the time capable of a peak brightness of 3,700 nits. Now it remains to be seen what this new panel will be called, perhaps Meta Technology 3.0 if LG Display continues (the name Meta Technology 2.0 was used this year for the 3,000 nits MLA panels).
