iPhone 16 Pro, how much do the components cost?

A minimum of €1,229 minimum for the latest iPhone 16 Pro, but how much do these pieces of metal, glass and plastic that you hold in your hands really cost?

According to an analysis by Japanese media Nikkei, the components in the latest iPhone 16 Pro cost Apple 6% more than those in the iPhone 15 Pro. In total, the components of the device cost $568, or around €533, compared to the price of €1,229 (starting at) at which the iPhone 16 Pro is sold to the public.

Naturally, we must add to this price the manufacturing, marketing, transport, R&D and other ancillary costs, but it is interesting to know the BOM - for Bill of Materials (or "cost price" in French) - of the smartphone, detailed by Nikkei. We learn that one of the most expensive components is the M14 screen, costing $110, followed by the camera module estimated at $91. The proprietary A18 Pro processor, however, is the most expensive component, with a price tag of $135.
