Max Oled, new technology for Oled screens up to 3x brighter

Samsung Display, Visionox and Japan Display are in the running to adopt a new technology called Max Oled, in order to improve the quality of Oled screens of all sizes.

While TCL is developing its new inkjet [abc]Oled[/abc] screen production technology, Applied Materials (already a supplier of deposition production solutions to most Oled manufacturers) has just announced a new maskless manufacturing technology, called Max Oled.

Max Oled, the main specifications££££

Intended for high-end smartphones, tablets, PCs and eventually televisions, Max Oled facilitates the production of Oled glass substrates with enticing specifications: up to triple the brightness of the screens and multiply their resolution by up to two and a half times (up to 2,000 dpi). Applied Materials adds that consumption can be reduced by more than 30% and thus increase the lifespan of the screens by up to five times.

Max Oled for the Oled TV of the future?££££

Apparently, this technology allows manufacturers for the first time to produce all types and sizes of Oled screens (support for Gen8 motherboards at the time of writing) from a single factory. Several manufacturers have already expressed interest in the Max Oled process: Samsung Display, Visionox and Japan Display. But before that, Applied Materials specifies in its press release that it is working in concert with Samsung Display to set up an Alpha system in order to gauge on site the qualities of this new technology, which is very promising on paper and in the laboratory.

Because it is now a question of proceeding with its industrialization, which is not a given, as many technologies have stalled at this stage.
