CES 25 > Technics EAH-AZ100, True Wireless Dolby Atmos and Auracast for unprecedented sound

At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Technics unveiled the latest additions to its Technics EAH-AZ100 True Wireless earbuds lineup. Introducing.

With the EAH-AZ100 headphones, Technics promises a new sound experience thanks to a new Magnetic Fluid Driver transducer, with the key to precise and rich reproduction of low frequencies with little or no distortion, and an overall balanced sound reproduction that is faithful to the original source.

This new speaker does not come from nowhere. It is directly derived from the one that equips the True Wireless Technics EAH-TZ700. Originally a 10 mm model, it has been miniaturized (without further details) to equip the Technics EAH-AZ100 headphones. The ultra-thin diaphragm is still designed in a special aluminum to eliminate unwanted vibrations.

FYI, Magnetic Fluid, injected into the free space between the transducer magnet and the voice coil, is an oil-like liquid filled with magnetic particles. In addition to drastically reducing distortion, this material provides detailed and dynamic listening that respects the intentions of the artist's creations.

The True Wireless Technics EAH-TZ700 handle Spatial Audio and/or [abc]Dolby Atmos[/abc] files for three-dimensional sound with increased overall clarity. Likewise, the Head Tracking function for a hyper-realistic 360° sound field is part of it.

The Voice Focus AI process uses an artificial intelligence module that, combined with an active AI noise reduction function (without further details) and three microphones in each earpiece, offers extreme clarity of voices during phone calls.

For the rest, the Technics EAH-TZ700 have the Bluetooth LE Audio function. This means compatibility with the LC3 codec and Auracast technology (to receive, for example, the sound emitted by the JBL Smart Tx module presented in our news of the JBL Tour One M3 headphones also unveiled at CES 25). Of course, Fast Pair functions, multi-pairing of three simultaneous devices and management of the LDAC protocol are still in place.

Among the other arguments put forward by the brand, a long-lasting battery suitable for travel, the preferred situation for using these headphones, with a total announced autonomy of 28 hours (with the case), 10 hours for the headphones. Qi compatibility is still part of the game for wireless charging.

Availability expected soon of the Technics EAH-AZ100 headphones, in black or silver. Recommended price: 299 euros.
