The French government looks into AI and creates Inesia

Our national leaders are finally taking a serious interest in the case of artificial intelligence, so as not to miss out on the fourth industrial revolution, after steam, electricity and computers.

In line with the priorities established in May 2024 by the Seoul Declaration for a "Safe, Innovative and Inclusive" AI adopted by Australia, Canada, the European Union, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States and of course France, our government announced a few days ago the creation of Inesia, the National Institute for the Evaluation and Security of Artificial Intelligence.

In summary, this new institute aims to promote security, inclusiveness and trust in AI in order to guarantee national security in this area. One of the goals of the maneuver is to develop tools that guarantee our security in light of the increasingly powerful capabilities of AI, to support its development and supervise its use in sectors such as medicine, education, industry and information. Researchers and engineers from the French National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI), the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (INRIA), the French National Laboratory for Metrology and Testing (LNE) and the French Digital Regulation Expertise Center (PEReN) will be working on the subject.
