In early 2024, the Californian organization Sharp HealthCare purchased 30 of these devices to launch a Center of Excellence for Spatial Computing. A year later, the group held a conference to unveil a procedure for integrating the Apple Vision Pro into a medical setting, with 300 doctors from 10 countries. To summarize, the headset significantly improves the work of the surgeon in the operating room, and dedicated applications are even developed to support targeted procedures. As for the price, $3,500, it makes doctors who are used to $20,000 medical monitors smile gently.

"The Apple Vision Pro allows physicians to do things that weren't possible before and simply improves patient outcomes, which is ultimately a huge part of a healthcare organization's success," says Susan Prescott of Sharp HealthCare.

Another notable development is a surprisingly fast adoption rate from physicians, who typically tend to be slow to introduce new technology into their practice.
