The new iPhone 16th has barely been released and rumors are already circulating about the arrival of an iPhone 17th in exactly a year. This is notable information when you consider that this "reasonably" priced range from Apple (previously called the iPhone SE) was released until now on unpredictable dates (2016, 2020 and 2022 for the first three versions).
iPhone XXe, annual update? ££££
The release of an iPhone 17th in February 2026 therefore means that Apple would launch this model regularly, as with the four main iPhones in September. The adoption of the name iPhone SE to iPhone 16th had given us a clue as to this possibility. The information comes from a recent report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), corroborated by Chinese "leaker" Fixed Focus Digital, specifying that the iPhone 17e project is already circulating in Apple's Asian supply chain.
The arrival of a fifth annual iPhone could allow Apple to generate more interest among consumers, more than the release of a simple new color, a strategy until now used by the manufacturer to launch something "new" a few months after the launch of the annual range.
