After acquiring all of Samsung's LCD TV panel patents in September 2022, following the decision by Samsung Display, the screen manufacturing division of the Samsung group, to abandon the manufacture of LCD motherboards, TCL finalized the acquisition of the last LCD TV panel factory from LG Display, located in Guangzhou, China, at the beginning of April for approximately $1.47 billion.
