A recent update to the YouTube app on PlayStation 5 added HDR10 compatibility to videos on the platform. More specifically HDR10 with VP9-2 codec. Namely, on PS5, YouTube HDR videos are available up to Ultra HD 4K and 60fps.
YouTube, a privileged source of HDR content
Lots of HDR10 videos are available on YouTube and, with the right screen, the results are often startling. For example, you can start on the aptly named The HDR Channel. Note that YouTube HDR compatibility had already arrived on Xbox consoles at the start of 2021.
