Sold in Apple Stores and online in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, these special editions of AirPods headphones celebrate the Chinese New Year which will begin on February 1, 2022. And as this year will be placed under the sign of Tiger, a cute little emoji with the effigy of the big cat is printed on the charging case, as well as on the packaging.
Red and red
Customers in China even report that Apple Stores also offer the accessory twelve red envelopes, each representing one of the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac. In China, it is customary to present a red envelope on New Year's Eve, usually containing money. Do not count on Apple however to offer you a biffeton, but know that these special editions are sold at the same price as the basic AirPods.
Also of note is a Collector's version for the Beats Studio Buds (see photo below), featuring a red design with gold tiger prints on the headphones and charging case.
