The fracture: a social plot in the corridors of the hospital

Health Services out of breath, Yellow Vests crisis…: Catherine Corsini's new film, La fracture, paints an anxious and human portrait of France in the crowded corridors of a hospital's Emergency Department.

Winter 2018, when his relationship with Julie is breaking up, Raf breaks his arm and finds himself in the emergency room of a large Parisian hospital. There she meets Yann, a Yellow Vest injured following a demonstration. In the hallways, as pressure mounts for caregivers, tension escalates rapidly and the hospital is forced to close.

A very current social pamphlet

After a few devouring romances set in the 1960s and 1970s (La belle saison, Un amour impossible), director Catherine Corsini returns to our time with La fracture, a social pamphlet that takes hold of contemporary crises to show the complexities of an anxious France. On screen, a cast of choice with Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi (Summer 85), Marina Foïs (recently seen in Barbaque) as well as Pio Marmai (How I became a superhero).

La fracture will be available on Blu-Ray and DVD from Le Pacte from March 2.
