Netflix acquires its third video game studio

Netflix continues to get its hands on development studios to feed its new offer of mobile video games.

After Night School Studio, then Next Games, Netflix bought three development studios in less than six months, the latest being Boss Fight Entertainment.

The word to Amir Rahimi, vice president of game studios at Netflix

“The studio's extensive experience in developing hit games across all genres will help us expand our ability to deliver great games to Netflix subscribers more quickly, which they can play wherever they want,” says Amir Rahimi VP Game Studios at Netflix.

A word from the founders of Boss Fight Entertainment

“Boss Fight's mission is to provide players with simple, beautiful and enjoyable gaming experiences wherever they are,” said the founders of Boss Fight Entertainment. Netflix's willingness to offer ad-free games as part of its subscriptions allows game developers like us to focus on creating engaging gameplay, without worrying about monetization. We are very excited to join Netflix at this early stage to continue doing what we are passionate about, while helping to define the future of gaming on Netflix.”

To date, Netflix offers 16 games, available in its iOS and Android app, including titles adapted from the series Stranger Things.
