Until now best known for its vacuum cleaners and fans, Dyson is attacking the audio sector with its first on-ear headphones with active noise reduction, the Dyson Zone. Nothing incredible a priori, except that the device integrates neither more nor less than a personal air purifier.
Dyson Zone, 500 prototypes before the final model
The result of six years of development that will have seen no less than 500 prototypes, the helmet contains compressors in each earpiece, which draw air through double-layer filters and project two streams of purified air towards the nose and the mouth, concentrated by a contactless visor. Take a look at the images to admire the result, straight out of a science fiction film. More details later, when the Dyson Zone is released.
The word Jake Dyson, Chief Dyson Engineer
“Air pollution is a global problem that affects us everywhere we go: at home, at school, at work and when we travel, whether on foot, by bicycle or in public transport. shared or private, explains Jake Dyson, Dyson Chief Engineer. The Dyson Zone air-purifying headphones purify the air you breathe on the go. Unlike protective masks, it delivers a flow of cool air without touching your face, thanks to high-performance filters and two miniaturized air pumps. After six years of development, we are delighted to be able to offer you pure air and pure sound, wherever you are. »
A little patience now, because we will have to wait until 2023 for the marketing of this helmet from elsewhere.
