Aurora borealis timelapse in 8K, wow!

Small 8K video to admire in all its splendor one of the most beautiful natural phenomena observable on our planet Earth.

A physics student at the University of North Dakota and an astrophotographer in his spare time, @Vincent_Ledvina went to help NASA at Fort Yukon in Alaska. The opportunity for him to immortalize a magnificent aurora borealis, a phenomenon he is passionate about.

8K photos captured by Sony Alpha 7 SLRs

To capture the phenomenon in 8K, this future space weatherman used three cameras -Sony Alpha A7S, Sony A7R II, and Sony A7- as well as three wide-angle lenses -Sony 14mm f/1.8, Sony 20mm f/1.8, and Tamron 35mm f/1.4 - all suitable for low-light photography. However, he specifies that a simple digital SLR or hybrid camera with wide-angle lens, large aperture, is enough to start capturing such images. Source: petapixel
