AirPods Pro 2, still no USB-C this year

Apple's new earphones planned for the end of the year should keep the manufacturer's proprietary Lightning port.

While Apple should finally give in to European legislation by switching to USB-C with the iPhone 15 of 2023, the new AirPods Pro that rumors see arriving at the end of 2022 should keep the Lightning port.

AirPods Pro 2, main specifications reminder (rumors)

In any case, this is what the Taiwanese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo asserts, in a message announcing the start of production in Vietnam of the new headphones for the second half of the year. Small reminder of some technical characteristics mentioned in previous rumors, for these headphones which could be rid of the famous rod which protrudes from the ear: the future AirPods Pro from Apple could be compatible with Lossless Alac encoding (Apple Lossless) , and their charging case can be located in the event of loss by beeping on demand, most likely via the Locate application. The headphones could also be equipped with voice control to switch from Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) mode to Transparent mode, the latter deactivating ANC in order to carry on a conversation, for example.

And if you want to see USB-C version AirPods, no need to wait since a Swiss engineer has already made his own. A unique copy of course.
