Without confirming it 100%, analyst Ross Young expects the next iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max to benefit from the Always On feature, allowing you to keep the screen on all the time while limiting the consumption of battery.
1 Hz screen on iPhone 14, compatible with the Always On function
As a reminder, the iPhone 13 Pro were the first to be equipped with a ProMotion screen capable of a variable refresh rate between 10 Hz and 120 Hz, adapting to the nature of the display and thus allowing to consume only the energy needed based on usage. Competing models from Oppo and Samsung are however able to manage a frequency of only 1 Hz, ideal for the Always On function.
According to Ross Young, the ProMotion screens of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be able to go down to 1 Hz and therefore favor the Always On function, so that information such as the date, time and notifications are displayed permanently and that the screen never goes completely black.
