According to famed Apple whistleblower Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, a new HomePod could arrive as late as early next year.
New HomePod, code name B620 and S8 chip?
As a reminder, Apple's connected speaker was initially released in 2018 and then its production was stopped in early 2021 due to limited success. Only the HomePod Mini remained available. Apple would therefore try its luck again with a product which bears the code name B620 and which runs with the S8 chip, the same as that present in the Apple Watch. This new HomePod would adopt a design and size similar to the original model, and would be distinguished by the integration of a multi-touch screen, corroborating a rumor dating from February.
No further details at this time, but no doubt we will learn more before its release in early 2023, if it is confirmed.
