As rumored last June, the PlayStation VR 2 virtual reality headset will be released in early 2023. This is what Sony has just confirmed through its Twitter and Instagram accounts. All that's left for Sony to do is communicate the price of the device, and all the pieces of the puzzle will finally come together.
PlayStation VR 2, main specs
As a reminder, the PS VR 2 is equipped with OLED screens with a resolution of 2000 x 2040 pixels per eye, with a refresh rate of 90 Hz to 120 Hz and a viewing angle of approximately 110 degrees. The movement of the eyes is tracked in real time and the gaze allows in particular to interact with elements on the screen. The controllers, now called PS VR2 Sense, have haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, as on the DualSense PS5. Also note, 3D audio playback through the headphones and a connection to the console via a simple USB cable, all without the need for an external camera for tracking. A big plus compared to the first PS VR.
Finally, you should know that around twenty "important" games will be available when PS VR 2 is launched.
