CES 23 > LG S77S: 3.1.3 Dolby Atmos/DTS:X, Wow Orchestra, 400 W and HDMI 2.1 soundbar

Continuation and end of our presentation of the 2023 soundbar range by LG with, after the LG SC95 and LG SE6S, the LG S77S.

3.1.3 audio system, the LG S77S comes in the form of a soundbar with a classic design (it is relatively compact compared to the SC95) accompanied by a wireless subwoofer. Namely, like the LG SC95 (pictured below, LG has not yet revealed the design of the S77S) and LG SE6S, the LG S77S will be marketed without surround speakers.

LG S77S, Center Up-Firing Speaker

Like the LG S95QR, LG S80QR and LG S80QY vintage 2022 soundbars and the LG SC95, the LG S77S has a central Up-Firing speaker, for a total of three on the soundbar. Of course, in the presence of a stereo signal, only two channels (right and left) of the soundbar will be automatically implemented and not all channels. And it remains possible to extend the stereo signal as desired with the consideration of the entire acoustic package of the soundbar via the Smart Up-Mixer function. And to finish with the stereo chapter, the LG S77S is certified Hi-Res Audio (96 kHz/24 bits).

LG S77S, main specs

In addition to Dolby Atmos/DTS:X compatibility, the technical characteristics of the LG S77S mention Class D amplification delivering a total power of 400 W without forgetting the exclusive Meridian Horizon technology capable of converting a stereo signal up to 3.1. New this year, the Wow Orchestra mode already mentioned in our columns (see our CES 23 news > LG 2023 soundbar, new Wow Orchestra function competing with the Q-Symphony Samsung) for an ever richer sound rendering.

LG S77S, the connection

The HDMI 2.1 connection of the LG S77S integrates the eARC, VRR, ALLM functions and, in 2033, 4K/120 compatibility. The same for the management of HDR10 and HDR Dolby Vision.
