The future of Game of Thrones seriously compromised

The policy of drastic cost reduction following the merger between Warner Bros and Discovery compromises the future of Game of Thrones.

George RR Martin, author of the novels Games of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire, which serves as support for House of Dragon, a series derived from Games of Thrones, has just affirmed that since Discovery merged with Warner, the drastic budget cuts have halted ongoing content writing for HBO Max.

The fault of global warming?

While the Games of Thrones spin-off series (including House of Dragon season 2) should all be currently in development, George RR Martin said on his blog: "Some of these spin-offs are moving faster than others, as is always the case with development. But none have been given a direct green light, although we hope that will unravel soon. Two series have already been temporarily shelved without being able to say definitively that both projects are dead, you can take something off the shelf as easily as you can put it back. But it is certain that these changes have had an impact on us”.

The sequel to the Game of Thrones series, centered on the character of Jon Snow, would it be part of the threatened series? George RR Martin does not specify. But “Winter Is Coming” less quickly than expected. It's global warming for everyone.
