Filmmaker David Twohy has just made official in a press release the start of Riddick: Furya, the 4th feature in the Riddick saga led by Vin Diesel. Until then, the film had been a bit of a sea serpent after its very premature announcement... in 2014.
Back to Furya
Riddick: Furya will be -like the first three eras of the Adventures of Riddick (Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Riddick, Riddick)- written and directed by David Twohy.
Riddick: Furya, which will be produced and directed by Vin Diesel, historical interpreter of the formidable nyctalope killer, will bring Riddick back to his home planet, Furya. According to the pitch already published, Riddick is back on his home Earth of which he has only a vague memory, fearing to discover only ruins left by the Necromongers (looter warriors at the center of the Chronicles of Riddick) . Against all odds, Riddick reunites with a few fellow countrymen struggling to survive a new enemy.
Shooting to come
The filming or release date of Riddick: Furya is not yet known but Vin Diesel will be back in theaters on May 17, 2023 with the release of Fast X, the 10th installment of "his" other flagship saga: Fast & Furious.
