The American channel AMC has just announced that the filming of The Walking Dead: Rick and Michonne with Andrew Lincoln (seen in 2006 in the film by Frenchwoman Lisa Azuelos Comme t'y es belle!) and Danai Gurira had just started .
The series will focus on the fate of the two iconic characters of the original series, namely Rick Grimes and Michonne, who disappeared from the last seasons of the original series, but who we knew were still alive through some revealing plans…
An epic love story
The two actors would have been directly involved in the creation of the spin-off series and in the development of their respective characters. Franchise regular Scott M. Gimple will serve as showrunner for the series, which is slated to premiere in 2024.
The official synopsis states: “The series features an epic love story between two characters that the post-apocalyptic world has changed. Separated by distance. By unstoppable power. Pursued by the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world that was built on the war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find themselves in a place and a situation that they have never known before? â€.
And three
Hoping that the series will be more successful than this slightly smoky synopsis… In short. After New York and The Walking Dead: Dead City with Negan/Maggie, Paris with The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), The Walking Dead: Rick and Michonne will be the third series derived from the universe of The Walking Dead. It is clear that the original series did not lack characters strong enough to support a spin-off solo or as a duo.
