Each season will adapt one of the novels of the Harry Potter saga and may logically take the time to develop elements that could not be integrated into the films that we know.
JK Rowling involved
Warner CEO David Zaslav and HBO boss Casey Bloys finally convinced JK Rowling to let them produce a Harry Potter series. The writer will be directly involved in the series so that she remains faithful to her novels, but she will not be the showrunner of the series.
The official announcement will be made next week, just as HBO Max announces its new name. As a reminder, the Harry Potter saga has given rise to eight films that have grossed just over $7.7 billion worldwide. When we like at HBO, we also count! Source: Bloomberg
