It was in 2015 that we first reported to you a rumor about the arrival of Oled technology on Apple tablets. And according to the latest rumors, the very first Apple Oled tablets will arrive (finally) in 2024.
Hybrid Oled technology for the next iPads
And it won't be outdated old Oled, if we are to believe the latest indiscretions collected on the production lines (via Phone Arena). Indeed, where the traditional OLED consists of two layers of glass, the iPads will benefit from hybrid technology to replace the upper substrate with a TFE (Thin Film Encapsulation) layer, similar to that of foldable smartphones. Besides, the bottom layer could also be reduced from 0.5mm to 0.2mm in thickness.
On the horizon, therefore, a better screen for a potentially thinner and lighter iPad.
