Same story as last year, if you were expecting a "Switch Pro" or even a new version of the Nintendo console, it won't be in 2023...
No new Nintendo console before April 1, 2024, according to the financial markets
On the occasion of his last announcement of quarterly results, the president of Nintendo -Shuntaro Furukawa- indeed explained that the sales forecasts for the coming fiscal year did not take into account a new console. In other words, no new Switch before March 31, 2024, the closing date of the current fiscal year for the Japanese manufacturer. Additionally, online daily Nikkei Asia recently claimed that a new console is in the works at Nintendo and won't arrive until next spring, at the earliest.
The word to Shuntaro Furukawa, President of Nintendo
"Maintaining the Switch's sales momentum will be difficult in its seventh year," Furukawa said on the investor call, reported by Bloomberg. Our goal of selling 15 million units this fiscal year is a bit ambitious. But we will do our best to stimulate demand during the holiday season so that we can achieve this goal.â€
